It’s that time of the year folks! Super Bowl LIII is right around the corner and America is getting ready for an annual night of high drama sports, expensive commercials, and a flashy halftime show performance. Just like the players on the Rams and Patriots, we fans have our part to do to get ready for the big game! Here are a couple tips to help you prepare:
Get your team spirit gear.
Get your team jersey from the NFL online store, or go on a more “extra” route. Here are a few non-traditional options: this shirt for any non-Patriots fans, this one for the Tom Brady lovers, and then there’s also this shirt…
Prep the bets!
Bring cash to place those bets for quarter results. Or, if too risky, use Monopoly money. Either way, it might be a good money day for some folks!
Make a Super Bowl Bingo.
Who doesn’t like a good bingo game? Here’s one we created for Super Bowl LIII. If you prefer to make your own, there’s a free online Bingo card generator you can use. Let’s get creative people.
Watch out for those insane Super Bowl ads.
I’m sure we’re all just as prepared as Gal Gadot and Jason Statham from the Wix commercial. After all, millions watch these ads, making them a huge, huge deal. Here’s a short list of some spot-on Super Bowl commercials from the past:
- Beyoncé’s Pepsi Ad
- Volkswagon Ad with Darth Vader, Jr.
- Snickers Ad with Willem Dafoe / Marilyn Monroe
- Budweiser’s Lost Dog Commercial
Stock up fully on food.
Did you know? According to Forbes, Americans consume nearly 12.5 million pizzas and 1.33 billion chicken wings on Super Bowl Sunday. And that’s… a lot. You can never go wrong with a large order of chicken wings (with the ranch sauce!) and pizza. Want something to snack on? Get a good guacamole dip and pair it with chips and pretzels. Thirsty? Stock up on water, juice for the kiddos and yes, your go-to beer. Last year, Chris Pratt gladly trained for his Michelob Ultra commercial. If you don’t feel as strongly for a big national brand as he did, go local! Craft breweries are a thing these days you know…
Lastly, make sure you have a good stream.
No TV, no party! Set up a good quality stream before the guests arrive so you don’t miss out on the crazy fun. Definitely avoid starting Super Bowl Sunday with the sentence, “Don’t hate, BUT the TV is out”! To watch the game, you can live stream from Hulu, YouTube, or the CBS Sports TV app.
Super Bowl LIII (Patriots vs. Rams) airs Sunday, February 3 at 6:30pm EST and will take place at the Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
